What is PinMeDown?
PinMeDown is a private social map game for friend groups. You post a dual-camera photo tied to a real location, and your friends guess where it was taken by dropping a pin on a map. Scores are based on accuracy, and a live leaderboard tracks who's winning over daily, weekly, monthly, and all-time periods.
Who can see my posts?
Only the friends and group members you've added inside the app. PinMeDown is not a public platform โ there's no public feed, no discoverability by strangers, and no broadcasting to the internet. Your posts are challenges for your circle.
How does scoring work?
When you drop a pin to guess a friend's post, your score is calculated based on how close your guess was to the actual location. The closer the pin, the higher the score. Scores contribute to your daily, weekly, monthly, and all-time rankings.
What are streaks?
Your streak counts how many consecutive days you've participated โ either by posting or guessing a friend's pin. Streaks are visible on the leaderboard and add a habit-forming layer to the game. Miss a day and the streak resets.
What are groups?
Groups let you play within a specific circle โ your study abroad friends, hiking crew, or any close-knit community. Each group has its own leaderboard and feed, so the game stays relevant to people who actually know each other.
How does location privacy work?
Your exact coordinates are never shown to friends until the reveal. They only see your photo. After everyone has guessed, the true location drops on the map and everyone can see how close they were. You control who can see your posts through your account settings.
Can I delete my account or download my data?
Yes โ both actions are available directly inside the app. You don't need to email support or file a request elsewhere. Account deletion is permanent and immediate. Data export is available on request from your settings screen.

โOur hiking group uses it every weekend. Beats every photo-sharing app we tried.โ
